KISS To Play Argentina's PEPSI MUSIC Festival?
June 12, 2008According to reports in the Argentine media, KISS will perform at the Pepsi Music festival in Buenos Aires in the middle of September (exact date to be announced) as part of the band's forthcoming South American tour. No further details are currently available.
KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley recently dismissed rumors the band will take part in a TV talent show in a bid to keep the legendary group running long after its founding members Stanley and Gene Simmons retire.
The band's manager, Doc McGhee, confirmed the rumors earlier in the month, telling Norway's NRK, "We're pretty close to getting it done about finding the four new members of KISS."
But while Stanley says he is not opposed to the idea of using television as a way to find new members for the group, he insists the band's current lineup will not be replaced as they plan on performing together long after the end of their current world tour.
In a statement posted on the band's official web site, Stanley says, "A KISS clone reality show? First of all, contrary to what was said by anyone, there is no signed deal. Secondly, if we were to do a 'KISS II,' and I don't rule that out, it would be in addition to, and never in place of, KISS.
"We are in the middle of our biggest and most successful tour of Europe ever, playing to over a half million people, and neither KISS or I have any plans to stop afterwards!"
